Product Description

MAGNIFOOD ZINC GLYCINATE
(Magnifood is a scientifically advanced innovation)
Zinc Glycinate differs from other forms of zinc supplements in the fact that in the gut it does not get ionized before it is absorbed. A special process (chelation) completely bonds zinc to the amino acid glycine forming zinc glycinate. The dietary bioavailability of zinc in other forms is relatively poor whereas zinc glycinate has been shown to achieve superior absorption and bioavailability. Zinc is a co-factor in approximately 100 enzymes involved in protein, carbohydrate and DNA/RNA metabolism. Daily intake is required to maintain a steady state as the body does not have a specialized zinc storage system.

Amino acid chelate
During the digestive process chelation occurs in order to transport minerals across the intestinal wall so that they can be absorbed and digested. Minerals that we need are not synthesized by the body naturally, chelation must occur to benefit us for nutritional purposes. Amino acids are not the only chelators, however for minerals they are ideal; because amino acids in general are easily absorbed by the body to be used for their normal functions as protein synthesizers or energy producers. When minerals are attached to the amino acid they will follow it directly into the intestinal wall for digestion. Zinc Glycinate is zinc bonded to the amino acid glycine.

Health benefits of zinc:

  • Required for the catalytic activity of approximately 100 enzymes
  • Critical for thyroid function, adrenal function and ovarian tissue function
  • Critical for the production of sex steroid hormones
  • Important for the structure of proteins and cell membrances
  • Adequate zinc is important during periods of growth and development, such as pregnancy and childhood
  • Correct balance is required for proper sense of taste and smell
  • Plays a role in immune function, wound healing & DNA synthesis
  • Gene expression is often regulated by zinc-acting via transcription factors
